We have become accustomed to seeing entire worlds created from scratch in computer-generated images in the cinema. In these conditions, it is difficult to be ecstatic about a trick.
However, I will cite two examples of breathtaking tricks that amazed me.
The first is from the film “Captain America: The First Avenger”.
The film itself has little interest, but we can see an incredible trick: they managed to transform the main actor (the bodybuilder Chris Evans) into a weakling.
A complex mixture of computer-generated images and superposition of Chris Evans’ head on the puny body of another actor, this trick is incredibly realistic.
It’s truly spectacular.
The other spectacular trick that comes to mind is the introductory sequence of Robert Zemeckis’ film “Contact.”
An impossible plan that leaves you speechless.
To find out how they did it:
These two films are not particularly recent, but it is ingenuity that takes precedence over the power of computers!
