The village of Walnut Grove for the series “Little House on the Prairie”.
Michael Landon absolutely did not want the village built for the needs of the series to be used for another film.
In fact, he was afraid that this village would later be used for a horror film or something.
To preserve the memory of this setting and this series, he had asked that the real destruction of this village be included in the script to thus close the story of the Ingalls family and the series.
In the last episode, all the villagers witnessed the explosion of houses, shops and other establishments with dynamite, the owner of this land where this village was built sowed terror.
To put an end to this terror, the villagers decided to make everything disappear.
The emotion that could be read on the faces of the actors of the series, despite the script, was obviously real because it was the end of a great adventure for this series and it is without a doubt this episode that has marked the minds of all viewers forever…
The actors had become a big family and they ended there with the real destruction of the decor where they had evolved.
This village was certainly not a set for a film but for a television series. But it had as much of an impact as other sets for cinema.
